Requirements:

Activities:
As a structural Simulation Engineer - FEA (Finite Element Analysis), you will be responsible for carry out simulation activities and analysis in powertrain areas for all our products: medium and heavy duty diesel engines, hybrids systems, transmissions and rear axles. Responsible also for working with global teams and creating an environment where design concepts are proven through simulation analysis and through test models.
 Perform Linear and non-linear static on full systems and sub assembly.
Perform explicit analysis on full systems and sub assembly
Analyse a structural strength of components subjected to high thermal and mechanical loads (dynamics).
Perform Kinematic Analysis.
Reproduce failure modes and propose solutions.
Coordinate with Test Engineering Team to develop and execute test plans for simulation correlation and identify locations for instrumentation on products.
Develop and write engineering reports to development teams.
Facilitate Design engineers in evaluating new and alternate designs through mechanical simulation.
Assist in the continuous development of simulation technologies for the analysis of engine components.
Training and mentoring mechanical/design engineers on FEA tools (Finite Element Analysis), simulation methods and standards.
Working in a global environment, maintain ongoing contact with other Volvo sites (Powertrain Sweden, France, USA and Japan).

Deliver Test Objects by leading, monitoring status from planning to delivery and initiate actions if needed;
Be the Product Build representative to Project Management Engineering  and Project Team.
The Powertrain Delevery Controller  have Quality, Delevery and Cost responsibility for Product builds towards the PME and Project;
To manage the project total build plan and keep it updated according to Project demands;
Chair or participate in regular or temporary decided meetings within the projects physical test object build process;

To utilize existing engineering tools, methods and processes and to follow general  Chassis & Vehicle Dynamic Engineering process according to the “Development Product Handbook “.

To have a stated responsibility for a component or part of a system, consequently being responsible for product cost and to support budget estimation by providing input in terms of material cost and development hours.

Responsibilities:
